IGN got an exclusive interview with McG who directed the recent
Terminator Salvation. McG admits that
T4 wasn't exactly what the fan base was expecting, but was a good launching point to know where he went wrong to fix it for
T5. The writers are currently writing the next installation and want to bring it back to the fun and exciting styling of Jim Cameron's
T1 and
T2. Everyone knows those were the best
Terminators ever, especially
T2. I think Arnold needs to cut the Govern-ator crap and return to his roots in barely-speaking action films. I definitely expected
Salvation to have been better than it was with Christian Bale as lead, and the abilities of CGI now a days. I mean it was good, but definitely not what it should have been. It would be incredible if Cameron pulled a Ridley Scott (
see post on Scott returning to his
Alien franchise) and decided to direct the 6th installment. But, hopefully McG isn't just talking out of his bum to try and get more viewers to see
T5, and actually tries to channel his own James Cameron-ness into the next installation.
