Battleships, Bon Bons, and...Asteroids?

Announced today, Universal Studios has won a bidding war to the rights of the Atari 1979 video game Asteroids. Everyone remembers playing this game either on the actual arcade machine or on the computer. It's where you're a triangle a.k.a. spaceship and you shoot the asteroids coming at you before they hit you. How is this going to become a movie that has any relevance to the game? Who knows, but hopefully it'll become a kick ass space sci-fi film since there hasn't really been any good ones out lately (besides Star Trek). But, hey if it includes blowing shit up in outer space, can't be that bad.
Also in Universal's line-up for development are other Hasbro franchises including Battleship and Candyland. Battleship could definitely turn into something kick ass, but I'm gonna guess Candyland is going to be a puff pic for the kids.
