Portman joins THOR as Jane Foster

Natalie Portman has been tapped to play Jane Foster, the love interest in Marvel's upcoming movie Thor. Jane Foster in the comics is a nurse who becomes Thor's alter ego's (Don Blake) first love, but in the film she'll be updated and just Thor's love since the alter ego is being left out. Portman joins Chris Hemsworth who is playing Thor and Tom Hiddleston who is playing Loki. Thor is set to be released on May 20, 2011 and is apart of the slate of films being produced by Marvel leading up to The Avengers for 2012. The other films include Iron Man 2 on May 7, 2010, and The First Avenger: Captain America for July 22, 2011. Portman should be awesome in this since she kicked ass in V for Vendetta and is a top 20 babe. Hopefully she'll bring some of that to this movie when it comes out.

Seems like the year 2011 is going to be the year of comics as Thor, Captain America, Deadpool, and Green Lantern are at the moment scheduled for this year, and the second half of the final Harry Potter film is slated for 2011 as well.
