Review - Warehouse 13, Brushes Back reality

Warehouse 13 premiered last night at 9:00 on the newly re-branded SyFy channel (same pronunciation as SciFi just new spelling, why? who knows.). For a sci-fi show it was pretty good, you don't have to be a technical geek or some kind of die hard sci-fi follower to understand the show which makes it that much better. The show follows two FBI agents who are newly recruited to work with Artie (the semi-keeper of the warehouse) to go around the world finding paranormal-like artifacts and stash them in this giant warehouse out in the Bad Lands of South Dakota. The show has an easy character formula: detail/follow-the-book female agent has to work with the energetic/easy-going male agent and the geek who stays at the warehouse. But it definitey works and helps bring some comedy/drama to the show. The acting is well done by relatively unknowns and the story for the pilot was pretty interesting. It's almost a combo of Ghostbusters meets Indiana Jones' warehouse mixed with an FBI show. I liked it, but no true babe is in the show which is kind of a downer, but who knows they may have some hottie guest stars down the line. Only complaints that I have is that I would like to see the agents explore more of the warehouse, learn about what objects are in their, and to actually use some of the objects on their mission. Oh yeah, and not to be 2 hours long again. That was way too long and had a crap load of commercials that ruined the flow. Overall, I'll most likely check out the 2nd episode and see where this thing goes.

Rating: 3.5/5 Bs
